In the beginning....

Hi everyone....I'm Madison..and welcome to my blog!

I'm sure you will find it very insightful, feel free to leave comments :-)

I'm doing my placement at Corporate Sports Australia (CSA), which is an international sports marketing organisaton. CSA focus mainly on event management for sporting events such as the Rugby, Cricket and AFL. They also handle player management and have a few high profile clients on their list, which includes the likes of Freo Dockers and Eagles players.

CSA have offices around Australia and their main office is located in Sydeny. The Perth office is located in Queen Street in the City. They have about 20 staff, ranging from event managers to sales executives.

So far, I have only completed three days of my internship, but I am hoping to increase my workload to two days a week in order to complete the required 20 days.

My first day at CSA involved working at the WACA for the One Day International Test, at the Australia v Sri Lanka game. It was a long day, we worked for 10am - 10pm. My main role for the day was to act as a "hostess" to the corporate clients. I was there to answer any questions they had and basically ensure they had an endless supply offer alcohol! It was amazing to see how a great deal of preparation and planning transferred into a relatively smooth event. The most exciting part of the day was seeing Gilly get his Century! Another highlight was the fist fight that broke out at the end of the night. Apart from that however, it was an enjoyable day.

At the moment, CSA are experiencing a quiet period. Cricket season has just finished and the footy season is about to begin. The next event CSA will be working on is the City to Surf Fun Run.

I have been given the job of creating the phamplet that is distributed to potential competitors. This requires a lot of liaising with the printers and lots of proof reading. In the next few weeks there will be lots of other projects to complete, so watch this space for updates...

That is all for now. If you have made it this far, I applaud you :-)
